The readers and writers have spoken!

The 2009 Halloween Challenge has been decided and the winning theme is: Jason and/or Elizabeth receive a prediction from a stranger (carnival inspired).

*****Please be sure to read ALL the details below for the Challenge.*****

1. So what kind of prediction is it? Who got it? What does it mean?

Well that's up to each writer to decide. A scary, spooky, murderous prediction? Something fun and sexy? Something "open to interpretation" that doesn't become clear til the end? Who knows! Its up to the author to decide if they will Trick... or Treat. The door to destiny is open and I bet our writers can come up with a billion creative Liasony concoctions to thrill and delight us in time for Halloween. They can be contemporary, historical, futuristic... AU, AH, AR. Whatever your heart desires.

2. How long does the story have to be?
Again, up to each author. Your Halloween Challenge can be a complete one parter, a short story, a full length story..... but...

3. When does it have to be finished and done posting by?
October 31st. Halloween.

4. Are there any other details/rules I need to know?
Yep. For the sheer simple fact that we've gotten A LOT of comments from readers tired of reading about Sam, Lucky, Nikolas, and Courtney? We're throwing in the added challenge of not being able to use any of those characters. Peeps seem to be in the mood to read about Jason with Elizabeth (and vice versa) and keep the focus on them. So we thought we'd accomodate. Hey, has to be a challenge in here somewhere!

5. When I post, how do I title my entry/chapters?
Please title your challenge entries as: Halloween 2009 Challenge: Your Title Here and include all relevant subject line details such as chapter, rating and archive information.

6. I'm stumped for an idea and nothing's grabbing me. Can you help?
Sure thing. What we'll do is -- 13 days before Halloween -- we will post a Halloween-based prompt for writer inspiration. That means, by the end of the challenge, you can have 13 one-part "prediction" stories, a mix of small short stories, or even one full-length, 13 chapter story. Up to you and how you want to use them. If you want to use them. They are not required and are only being provided for those who are looking for, need and/or want to use them. Prompts will start being displayed October 18th (each one coming a day early so our writers have time to work on them). You are NOT restricted to one hour per chapter/prompt because this is not a flash fic. Of course, if you want to treat it like a flash fic and give yourself an hour per prompt? We won't flog you. This is all about making this challenge work for all our authors.

And that's it.

If you have any other questions, just add them to this thread and we'll do our best to answer them.
